When considering styling options for your custom draperies, it is important to keep in mind that the more we pleat a panel of fabric, the narrower it becomes at the top. Depending on the fabric, you can expect your panels to be the following widths when finished:
Rod Pocket Panels: 48 - 50" wide
Contemporary Pleat: 45 - 48" wide
Pinch Pleat: 25 - 27" wide
Euro Pleat: 25 - 27" wide
Goblet Pleat: 24 - 26" wide
Finished Width of Double Width Panels:
Rod Pocket Panels: 98 - 102" wide
Contemporary Pleat: 92 - 99" wide
Pinch Pleat: 50 - 55" wide
Euro Pleat: 50 - 55" wide
Goblet Pleat: 50 - 55" wide
Windows come in so many sizes, why settle for curtains that don't fit properly? One of the most wonderful aspects of custom drapery is being able to order drapes in any length that you want. But what length will that be? First you need to decide where you would like your curtains to end in relation to your floor.
Floor length curtains sit directly on the floor (order them 1 inch shorter if you would like for them hang slightly off the floor), trouser length panels "break" on the floor (add 1 -2 inches to the order length of your panels), and puddle length curtains form soft folds on the floor (add 6 - 7 inches to the order length of your panels). You will notice that the length setting only goes up to 120" on this website; however, we would be happy to give you a quote on longer lengths. Simply email your request to customorder@homedesignwarehouse.com.
In addition, you will also need to consider your drapery hardware. For example, if you already have a drapery rod in place and would like floor length panels, simply measure from the base of the ring to the floor. For rod pocket curtains (no rings), measure from the top of the rod to the floor.
If you do not have a rod in place already, remember the higher you mount your rod, the higher your window and ceilings will appear. I prefer to mount drapery rods several inches above the window.
Fabrics may appear different in person than they do on your computer monitor. For this reason, we encourage you to order free fabric samplesbefore you purchase your curtains to ensure that you are receiving the exact colors you desire. And because your curtains are custom made just for you according to your specifications, they are non-returnable. However, if we make a mistake in fabric, length, or style of panel we are more than willing to correct our mistake and deliver the curtains you ordered.
